Update on Buddy

Update on Buddy!!!

Dr. Reber came out today and took a look at Buddy's leg. Turns out there's nothing seriously wrong with it. Seems like he pulled a muscle in his hind leg. Dr. Reber told me the best thing I could do for him is just to let him rest for a couple weeks until it gets back to normal. Which won't be a problem considering the only excersize he gets is when I take him on walks. lol So he's on rest-time now. The vet also gave me the steriods that work SO good for his allergies so we're well on the road to recovery. :-D Thanks to everyone for their prayers and thoughts. I appreciate them so very much! Have a nice day now.

Nope, I haven't fell from the face of the earth...

I'm still here!
Hey guys! I know... I'm way behind on my updating. :-S *Apologizes* Lately I've been so busy it's just crazy. During the day, if I'm not babysitting, I try to go over to the grooming salon. And then during the evenings we've had church, get-togethers, or something else. Yikes... I haven't even practiced my fiddle since my lesson Monday until today. Normally I would have had my songs memorized by the next day. It's crazy... Yesterday was the "Christmas in July" sale and I decided last minute to set up a little advertisment for my equine photography. I counted my cards when I got there after babysitting and 6 of them were gone. So I guess that's a good start. Oh while I was there, I also seen a couple of friends who were down from Indiana. :-D Small world. Afterwards, I grabbed a bite to eat at Arby's and headed over to Jana's house for the Tropical themed Pampered Chef party. It was awesome!! I guess I wasn't paying attention or something because I totally missed to part where you buy the tools and things. I was just enjoying the food. :-o Yes... I'll admit that. Then, last minute fun, I stayed overnight with Jana so I could drain the night of all it's fun. Which it was. We played volleyball and had a really good time. Well, here's some pictures from Wednesday at Howl a Day Inn. Enjoy!

Tea party!

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been getting behind on my picture taking lately. Everything has been so hectic. Here's some pictures from Teusday evening. Mom hosted a party birthday for Caroline in Grandma's sunroom. Grandma was invited of course. Along with her daugher (Jane), Grandaughters (Caroline and Mom) and Great grandaughter. (Yours truly.) I only dropped in for a bite to eat and to take some pictures but I believe they had a wonderful time! Mom cooked supper along with a bunch of tasty finger foods.

Reba and Zippy

These are the two girls I'm feeding for a friend. The one with the blaze on her face is Reba and the other is Zippy. This farm is the one that I'm wanting Buddy to stay at sometime in the future. But I'm still just thinking about it. He's been on a trail ride with the two of them and was really submissive when Reba layed out law and order so I figure they'd get along fine. :-P

The Trail Ride

Hi again! Just an update on Buddy... For those of you who didn't know, he has allergies really bad. Last year they weren't even noticable. So it just came out of nowhere. They've been bothering him quite a bit. I thought maybe it was the pollen because it was really bad this year and when we had the super hard rain the other day, Buddy seemed to improve a little. I'm just not sure though. He was doing good Thursday morning, so I took him out for a short ride so he could get some excersize. I always ride bareback so he won't have the girth squeezing him around his middle. Even so, I had to MAKE him stop and catch his breath every little bit. He was so happy to be out he didn't want to stop. And when I would stop him, he'd swing his head around on mouth my shoes as if to say, COME ON!!

He's came a long ways in the 4 years I've had him. I can ride him with nothing but my hand and leg movements. Of course, I put his halter on when we go out because he gets a little over anxious. But even without the bit, he respects me. Which is why it's hard for me to say that I don't think he's gonna be around that much longer. At 17 he's getting to be an old man. I'm thinking seriously about retiring him completely. No riding whatsoever (As much as he seems to enjoy our time out) and to board him with some friends horses so he can live out the rest of his days with some companions in peace and quiet. Just pray for me as I try to decide what to do. I'm gonna miss our walks together when I can take his halter off and he follows me around like an overgrown puppy... He owns a big part of my heart.

It's Monday again...

Hi everyone! Today has been soo hectic! I got up at 6 something this morning, drove to the kid's house, and ended up going back to sleep in lil Moriah's bed. She didn't notice because she was sleeping in her sister's bed. lol Then, at about 3:30, their Grandpa came to pick them up and I headed back to the house. Took a shower, and cleaned up my WRECK of a room. (Ok, that's probably an understatement) I cleaned up my HORRIBLE wreck of a room and practiced my fiddle, grabbed a snack, and then Mary Lynn showed up for a fiddle lesson. After the lesson, I ran Mary Lynn over to the Cockman's and then came back, grabbed my camera, and headed to my neighbor's barn. She had called me earlier today and asked me to come take some pictures of her horses. I was like, "Yeah!" I really enjoyed doing it too. It was a little tough because I didn't get out there until after 7:30 but I think I did get a few that I really liked. Here's the one's that I have edited so far. Enjoy and have a nice day!

Meet Buie... He was on a lunge line in most of these picture because he's only green broke but I took it out. Leave me a comment and lemme know if you can tell it was there anywhere... I'm trying to work on that part of the editing. Thanks!

July 5th

Hi everyone! Today wasn't the most gorgeous day I've ever seen... But it was definitely fun, I must say that! Got up bright and early this morning, met Jana in Hickory, and went to the Blowing Rock Parade. It poured rain through pretty much the whole parade but for some reason, standing there huddled under the umbrella watching the parade go by... It just had a peaceful feeling to it. I loved it! Then as the parade ended, the rain quit! Ah! So it held off while the Cockman's sang and started back up again soon afterwards. We had so much fun though! :-) After the parade and music was over, everyone started packing up to leave. But the fun wasn't over... hehe My family, Michael, and the Edwards family all road back down the mountain and grabbed some supper at Cracker Barrel. Never tasted soo good! Well, I had fun but the weekend isn't over yet. I have a shower to take tonight, and church tomorrow, then it's back to the same ol' Monday routine. Oh wait... Not the EXACT same. I get a fiddle lesson! :-D

P.S. More Pictures Coming SOON!
