Smoky Mountains
This past September, my family went on a camping trip together to the Smoky Mountain Campground, nestled between Pigeon Forge and Cherokee. We spent a week in the great outdoors and enjoyed every bit of it. I'm sorry these pictures are coming late. But hey, judging from past experiences, at least they made it on here. :-)

Veterans Day at Fort Dobbs
In honor of Veterans day this year, Fort Dobbs of Statesville, NC held a living history day. All the people pictured here are volunteers that bring their own valuable things and camp "Colonial style" for two or three days while sharing their knowledge of the area, the artifacts, and the person they are "representing".
I was privileged to meet a Cherokee Indian, a group of soldiers defending Fort Dobbs in 1760, a WWI nurse, and a GI soldier. Together, all celebrating Veterans Day...
Weapons Demonstration
Part of Fort Dobb's recruits
Coat, hatchet, and an ammunition belt.
Just a day in the life of troops in 1760.
Have to keep the fire stoked somehow.
A lone Indian keeping to himself.
